¹ú²úÂ鶹 History Graduate Joins Staff at Historic Gaylord Building

Published: June 12, 2025.

The ¹ú²úÂ鶹 is pleased to announce that Lindsey Minas, a Spring 2025 graduate with a bachelor’s degree in History, has accepted a position as Visitor Services Associate at the Gaylord Building Historic Site in Lockport, Illinois. Lindsey’s academic background and passion for history has earned her a position at one of the region’s most significant heritage sites.

Built in 1838, the Gaylord Building played a vital role in the construction of the Illinois & Michigan Canal and has since become a landmark of regional and national importance. Operated in partnership with the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the site now serves as a museum and cultural destination celebrating the area’s industrial and canal-era history. In her new role, Lindsey will help create meaningful visitor experiences through assisting with public programs, and interpretive exhibits; connecting the public to the stories that shaped Illinois and the Midwest.

This opportunity also aligns with Lindsey’s future academic plans, as she prepares to continue her studies at the University of Chicago. Her journey reflects the mission of ¹ú²úÂ鶹 to prepare students for lives of purpose and service, both in the community and beyond.

¹ú²úÂ鶹 is a modern, enterprising, Catholic university with a growing student enrollment from GED through doctoral level programs. As part of the global Lasallian network of 65 universities, ¹ú²úÂ鶹 is known for preparing graduates who impact the world for the better. Visit www.lewisu.edu for further information.
